Parking Placards and Registration
What is it?
Disabled parking placards entitle veterans with qualifying service-connected disabilities to park in any disabled parking space and exempt them from the payment of a fee or penalty imposed by a governmental unit for parking at a meter.
Who qualifies?
A disabled veteran qualifies for a disabled parking placard when his/her Department of Veterans Affairs disability rating is 50% or higher, or if the disabled veteran is 40% AND is the result of the amputation of a lower extremity.
How to get it?
Complete Form VTR-615 (which is the same one used to request DV plates) and mail it to County Tax Assessor-Collector. Proof of eligibility must accompany application.
